Clear aligners have been developed specifically for aligning your teeth in a predictable, smooth, clear and comfortable manner.
Instead of metal brackets, wires or screws, you’ll be wearing a thermoplastic material to achieve your desired results – while going unnoticed by the people around you.
Active aligners work on basic orthodontic principles. They are used for the correction of crooked teeth, gaps or rotation, while achieving the desired results in an organized and planned fashion. These customised trays are “invisible” and move the tooth in the desired direction.
This is achieved through wearing a series of Active Aligners, each for 22 hours a day, 1 to 2 weeks at a time (one stage), which move the teeth per stage until their optimal alignment has been reached.
Benefits of Active Aligners:

Teeth whitening is a quick and effective way to get shades lighter, reducing everyday stains caused by tea, coffee, red wine and smoking. Teeth whitening enhances your smile, making you look and feel younger. The single most aging aspect of your smile is the colour of your teeth. Dull, yellow or stained teeth give the appearance of a more advanced age. Teeth whitening procedures are safe, affordable and definitely worth it.
Ballyclare Dental offers Philips Zoom! in-office whitening and a Take Home Whitening system which can be used in the comfort of your own home. With whitening you can expect an improvement of up to six to eight shades whiter, depending on the condition of the teeth.
Ballyclare dental offers the endless whitening for life programme backed by Philips Zoom! Tooth whitening.
IN-CHAIR TEETH WHITENING
Philips Zoom! is a scientifically advanced in-office teeth whitening system that is done in the chair and only takes an hour and a half to complete. Using the latest technology when it comes to teeth whitening procedures and with the added benefit of an LED light, the procedures are safer, quicker and more effective with immediate results. The LED light accelerates the whitening process, carried out by the chemical gel that is applied to the tooth surface. This ensures that not only do you get a whiter smile in just under an hour but makes it a comfortable experience as well.
TAKE HOME WHITENING KIT
The Take home Whitening system is less expensive, but just as effective with the only difference being that the results aren’t immediate. A custom-made, invisible tray is designed uniquely for you. The whitening gel is applied to the tray which is then inserted into your mouth. The tray is then worn during the day or night for a specified period of time. The treatment time will vary dependent on the initial colour and condition of the teeth. This method is equally as good but takes longer to achieve the desired result. For the best results, this should be used after an in-office whitening procedure was done.
We recommend that our dental team do an assessment to make sure that you are an ideal candidate. We also suggest a cleaning by our Hygienist beforehand to ensure the best results.
Note – if you have implants, crowns or veneers, they won’t lighten.
